To handle these challenges and complexities, Systecon developed Opus Suite, consisting of three world-leading software applications: OPUS10, SIMLOX and CATLOC. These applications are used to optimize and dimension technical systems operations.
Using SIMLOX, we simulate operations with respect to maintenance plans as well as system and component failure rates. We model the resources that are required for maintenance and to uphold the necessary system availability. A SIMLOX analysis is especially powerful in situations where there are a variety of operations and maintenance solutions to choose from and it is difficult to identify the one that best meets the requirements. It allows us to test and analyze how alternate solutions would be impacted by different factors, for instance, using SIMLOX to the impact a planned increase in traffic would have on maintenance capacity in an existing depot and to assess available alternatives.
Using OPUS10 we can optimize the spare parts inventory for individual or multiple technical systems. Based on a given operational goal, e.g. availability, OPUS10 will provide the most cost effective solution. Using OPUS10 we can also easily identify and quantify synergy effects among the systems. Optimizing with OPUS10 is superior to other methods and reduces the capital cost of the spare parts inventory by ensuring that the proper items are stocked in the right quantities at the right location.
